Meshtastic and touch map: communicate without a 4G/5G network
We are testing Meshtastic beacons configured by Gaulix, an ideal solution to communicate without any 4G or 5G network. The system works everywhere: in the desert, in the forest or in any isolated area, out of reach of conventional operators. A major asset for the resilience of field teams.
A touch map for real-time interaction
The interface is controlled on a touch map that lets you interact with your environment in real time. Pairing a beacon with any smartphone (iPhone or Android) is straightforward. You can then send messages, share your GPS position and receive instant replies from one terminal to another. A solid foundation for coordinating emergency response, to be combined with our command room.
Firmware update and field use cases
The video also details the step-by-step firmware update, via DFU mode, from connection to installation. This kind of independent mesh network is especially suited to firefighters, rescue teams, the military, festivals and expeditions, wherever the cellular network is unavailable.
A big thank you to Gaulix.fr for their technical support. This approach is part of our resilience philosophy for the firefighter and emergency services solution.
