Fire service video wall modernised for under 1200 euros

Video wall of a southern France fire service modernised with EMD, 9 thin-bezel panels in a command room

Reuse what you already have instead of replacing everything

Our technology lets you reuse a large part of the display installations already in place. You keep the freedom to choose your own hardware budget, instead of throwing everything away to start from scratch.

The real life of firefighters is about being flawless while working with often limited resources. Our role is to help them do more with less. We are proud to contribute to this ecosystem with our low prices and top-tier technology. In France, when you dial 112, there is roughly a 1 in 6 chance that the operators rely on our video walls. Think about that the next time you call for help.

Photo of the day: a fire service video wall brought back to life

This fire service in southern France had bought a video wall around ten years ago. It was made up of 9 thin-bezel panels, a controller with 1 HDMI input for 9 HDMI outputs, and an HDMI switch to toggle between 2 inputs. The whole thing was as loud as an aircraft and tiring to use.

After several on-site visits (I live nearby, it is easier that way) and constructive exchanges with the fire service, I proposed a new technical architecture, a plan A. The IT manager studied it and designed a plan B. After another round of feedback, it was plan B’ that was rolled out.

An efficient and economical modernisation

The fire service invested in 2 to 3 network components for the hardware upgrade for 200 euros, an Elgato StreamDeck XL remote for 250 euros, and a 4-input HDMI capture card for 700 euros. That is around 1150 euros in total to transform an ageing installation.

The result is stunning for everyone at the fire service, from the operator to the colonel, and the captains at the alert and dispatch centre in between. Everyone is delighted. The aircraft noise is gone too. It is simple, efficient, quick to set up and inexpensive.
