Painting stolen from a museum: the video wall raises the alarm immediately

A painting is taken down… and the video wall raises the alarm immediately. Guy played the thief in front of our demonstration wall, for museums and institutions that protect works of art.

How it works

  • The streams from the Axis cameras come up on the video wall with CollectivView.
  • Each painting is framed on screen, and the colour of the frame follows the alarm level.
  • A crooked painting: “Artwork touched”, the frame turns orange.
  • A painting taken down: “Artwork removed”, the frame turns red, the camera goes full screen, a sound rings out and the alert is also displayed on the walls.
  • When the painting comes back, the frame realigns on the area. But the alert never clears by itself: a copy may have replaced the original. The banner reads “seen back in place: possible copy, check then acknowledge”, and only the operator, after checking, ends the alert.

Without replacing what you have

Do you already have a VMS, Genetec, Milestone or another? CollectivView adds a layer of security on top, without replacing everything, in two ways:

  • alongside your VMS, whichever it is, by taking its images through an HDMI capture: the artificial intelligence analyses the image on top;
  • directly on the RTSP video streams of your IP cameras, with the Axis profiles read from the camera.

The aim: to detect an abnormal situation, raise the alert and speed up the response.

And after the alert

Take an intrusion detected in a museum. CollectivView is designed to send the image and the message straight to law enforcement, by email, by a link or by Tchap, with the account provided by the service (prefecture, police, SDIS). Nothing is sent until sending has been authorised in the settings.

The goal is not to replace the operator. It is to give them the right information, at the right time, on the right screen, and to do automatically whatever can be done automatically.

The price

  • CollectivView software: €3,000 excl. VAT, lifetime licence;
  • dedicated processing PC: €3,700 excl. VAT.

A professional, affordable solution, designed to fit into your existing video surveillance, without necessarily replacing it.

At the end of August, we were already presenting CollectivView in the control room of a major London museum. And in a short video, the same demonstration brings together on a single wall the Axis cameras and the images coming from Milestone and Genetec.
