How to Display Road Traffic Information?

Displaying real-time road traffic information on one or more screens is very easy with Easy Multi Display. This article explains how to do it step by step. A YouTube video is also available to guide you through the setup.

Note that the Easy Multi Display configuration may vary from one workstation to another, as it depends on the resolution of your screens.

Display live road traffic

With our dynamic display solution, you can continuously show the state of traffic on your video walls. In our example, we use the Google Maps service, but many other websites offer this type of real-time information.

The trick is to open Google Maps on the city of your choice, then enable the traffic layer. The resulting address then contains the parameter !5m1!1e1, which corresponds precisely to the live traffic display.

Example for New York road traffic with Google Maps:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+York,+NY,+USA/@40.6971494,-74.2598676,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c24fa5d33f083b:0xc80b8f06e177fe62!8m2!3d40.7127753!4d-74.0059728!5m1!1e1

The three configuration steps

  1. Choose the link to display in Easy Multi Display (for example the Google Maps address above, adapted to your city).
  2. Configure the software to place this source at the desired location on your video wall.
  3. Start the display: the road traffic appears in real time on your screens.
